Being a natural product, each cork oak is a distinct
individual from all the others, and its characteristics vary in function
of its entire involving factors.
The cork oak therefore is catalogued in diverse types depending on the
size, calibre and quality. Therefore, to the available types of cork
oak correspond respective uses, meaning: a type of cork oak for each
type of cork stoppers, other types for floors, others for artefacts
etc.
For this
reason the cork sector has a well defined path: the production, the
extraction and the preparation, followed by the transformation itself,
the granulation and agglomeration, finishing with the distribution and
commercialization.
From all the previous, Preparation has shown, throughout
time, a basic and unavoidable process in the manufacture of the cork,
given some of the applications, ends and values of the cork, but especially,
in a logistic of physical, human and financial resources .
However,
for several years by now, we’ve been attending to a growth of
an ideological movement that bases the verticalisation of the productive
system in favour of the quality control in the cork sector, witch means:
they understand that only having the full control of the cork since
the forest to the wineries will it be possible to eliminate the problems
of the cork, and therefore they go to the forest to buy cork from the
intermediates, excluding the Preparation of the row.
However,
these companies have experienced enormous difficulties; it has been
proven that it is not functional to have, in a single factory, two distinct
activities, such as the production of cork stoppers and preparation.
Being treated individually is the only way that one doesn’t become
the other’s “profit sucker”, and finally, the fact
that there are necessary years of knowledge to be apt to buy cork in
the forest in a meticulous way.
When rejecting
the preparators, they proliferated in a direct proportion way the intermediate
that, in its majority, for not being technically qualified, is as we
know, less scrupulous, not only in the way to buy and to sell, but also
in the way to handle the cork, bringing as a consequence price speculation,
followed of a quality shortage, with serious penalizations in the final
reputation of the cork, harming indirectly the whole row.
For all
these reasons, J. TIQUE, Lda’s mission is to
select the best montados (cork oak fields), to organize and to train
the staff teams to extract the cork in its better conditions, to select
it for calibre and quality, with or without preparation, in order to
supply the several cork industries, in function of their necessities
and criteria.
J.
TIQUE, Lda. answers to the new reality of the market, offering
the client, beyond the traditional options of 20 types of cork prepared

Código Internacional das Práticas Rolheiras.
J.
Tique Lda. is a company worried in offering the best possible
business conditions, and especially, in establishing long term relationships
