About a century ago, ancestors of the Tique family, coming from Catalonia (Spain), searched from all the Iberic Peninsula the best cork precedence locations, to install cork industry.

They finally installed in Azaruja (Alentejo, Portugal), an excellence zone, because of its edafoclimatic characteristics, and the resulting production of high quality cork.

João Tique, ex-associate of the company Adriano Sureda Ferrão Tique Herd.ºs Lda. was previously an individual entrepreneur, and so he has a wide experience and family tradition in cork, passed by generation to generation.

Founded in 2002 by João Tique, J. Tique Lda. is a small family company located in Azaruja, Alentejo. Its activity consists in high quality cork extraction, selection and preparation, and therefore, in small quantities.
